Joe and Ann Pollack, St. Louis' most experienced food writers for decades, led a tour of restaurants, wines, shops and other interesting places in this wide-ranging blog. With the passing of Joe in 2012 and Ann in 2022, they leave behind a rich legacy of writing. Here's a sampling of some of their writings in addition to their work in places like the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, St. Louis Magazine as man others. Ann and Joe also wrote about the Gateway City's food in multiple books, including Beyond Toasted Ravioli, Beyond Gooey Butter Cake, the Great St. Louis Eats Book, Lost Restaurants of St. Louis and Iconic Restaurants of St. Louis. Raise a glass, and we hope you enjoy these.

If you're the man who stopped to ask Joe about bakery items at Schnucks Saturday, will you please contact us here? Thanks.

I am trying to find a recipe for Alice Medridh's "Queen of California" cake, my web research led me here. Can you help? I had it from the shop Cocolot a very long time ago.

You're in luck; I have it and have made it many times. I should have it posted Tuesday.
